MÆRK – Danish Centre Countering Honour-Based Violence

MÆRK: Supporting vulnerable citizens

In 2024, Danish Centre Countering Honour-Based Violence (MÆRK) was established as a unit under the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration. In connection with this, BGRAPHIC has developed the center’s logo and visual identity.

MÆRK works to prevent and address honour-related conflicts, negative social control, forced marriages, and re-education trips in Denmark. The center provides counselling and support to both professionals and citizens affected by honour-related situations and operates a 24-hour hotline for urgent inquiries. MÆRK also offers specialized professional assistance to authorities such as municipalities, the police, and schools, and contributes through training, knowledge sharing, and the development of new methods in the field. The goal is to ensure each individual’s right to freedom, self-determination, and protection from honour-related pressure and violence.

To support this work, BGRAPHIC has further developed the center’s design program with additional elements and products. This includes a PowerPoint template, designs for brochures, dialogue cards, postcards, and a series of communicative infographics and icons. BGRAPHIC has also designed a range of knowledge briefs, MÆRK VIDEN, where the center concisely highlights key challenges, statistics, practical guidance, and relevant legislation within the field.

All this have been delivered as templates – ready for the center to independently manage future materials.
