When is the bus arriving? Movia needs to provide this information at 13,400 bus stops

Movia has introduced a new design for all their bus stop signs across Greater Copenhagen and Zealand, where Movia manages bus operations. The bus stop signs display route maps and bus frequency. The information boards at the stops explain how to purchase a ticket and how to access general information about the bus route.

BGRAPHIC has developed the design and refined the text. The route maps and text have been enlarged for improved readability – even in low lighting conditions. The information is clear, and QR codes are included to allow passengers to access next-bus information via their mobile phones. The design and texts were qualitatively tested in focus groups and on selected routes before final implementation. BGRAPHIC has provided automated InDesign templates, enabling Movia to input data for their 13,400 bus stop signs.

Movia also needs to communicate bus route changes at individual stops. These detour signs are yellow and highly noticeable, distinguishing them from the standard white bus stop signs. Ten different detour sign templates have been created. These are designed in InDesign and saved as editable PDF files, allowing Movia staff to complete and print the signs near their point of use.
