Awards are given to people who make a difference for people with dementia
More people in Denmark are being diagnosed with dementia. It is estimated that approximately 89,000 Danes over the age of 60 have dementia. And the number is expected to increase in the future, which is why it has received greater focus than ever in Denmark.
Therefore, the Ministry of Senior Citizens annually awards an employee and a relative. The Employee Award is given to an employee who makes a special effort to ensure the security, dignity, and joy of people with dementia. The Relatives’ Award can be given to either a person or a service or activity that makes a special effort to recognize, support, and include relatives of people with dementia. Anyone can nominate individuals or services/activities for both awards. The submitted proposals are assessed by a professional jury.
BGRAPHIC has developed the concept and design for the awards, which are framed diplomas to hang on the wall and an amount of money shown in large cardboard checks to the recipients.
It is an important issue and super important that we focus on how we can make things better for people affected by dementia.
