International Union for Conservation of Nature

Annual report for global organisation

The IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) is an independent international nature conservation organisation whose purpose is to promote the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. It does this by gathering and utilising the experience and influence of more than 1,400 member organisations and around 17,000 experts, making IUCN one of the world’s leading authorities on assessing the state of nature and initiating projects to protect it.

In close collaboration with Phoenix Design Aid, we have developed the IUCN’s annual report for 2024. The assignment is a total delivery, where Phoenix Design Aid, in close dialogue with IUCN headquarters in Switzerland, has been responsible for the entire process from editorial strategy, research, interviews, content coordination and copywriting to delivery of the finished annual report in three languages: English, French and Spanish.

BGRAPHIC was responsible for design development, layout and language versions. The design has been further developed from the IUCN design guide and has been given a modern and light look with beautiful images of nature and easy-to-understand infographics. It has been developed to set the direction for annual reports in the coming years.

Through this work on both form and content, the annual report strengthens the IUCN’s credibility and authority, while also helping to attract future partners and donors to the important work of protecting our natural world.
