Here you have Birgitte\u2019s five pieces of advice on how to be successfully self-employed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The assignments will come if you make sure to use, maintain and sustain your network \u2013 and keep adding more people to it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A recommendation from a happy customer or colleague is powerful, and that\u2019s the reason many assignments are results of a strong network. Many assignments come from 2nd, 3rd or 4th degree connections in your network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It applies for both your work life and your personal life. When you\u2019re self-employed you might find it challenging to strictly separate when you are working, and when you are just yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But it\u2019s important to distinguish between the two. It makes sure you have a productive working day, when you\u2019re working \u2013 during the day. And that you can relax, when you\u2019re off. Everyone has to charge their batteries sometime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And allow yourself an off day. You don\u2019t have superpowers, and it\u2019s completely normal that some days are tougher than others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s okay! Tomorrow is a new day \u2013 with new possibilities and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You have to be realistic, but at the same time you should dare to dream big! This is your chance to create an amazing business \u2013 do what you love to do, create wonderful solutions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Make sure to get help, before you\u2019re knocked down. It\u2019s okay to ask for help. Even though you\u2019re self-employed, you don\u2019t have to be able to do everything yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ask yourself what you need. You can hire great employees, or you can book freelancers for whatever it is you need. It\u2019s amazing to work with someone else, so you have someone to talk to about the solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
